Description
Skin fittings are used to maintain any type of hole going through the hull of a boat. Common uses are either to allow sea water in e.g. for engine cooling or to let water out e.g. waste water drains. They are also widely known as “through hull” (or “thru hull”) fittings.
These skin fittings are made from marine grade, AISI 316 stainless steel. Stainless steel has superb corrosion resistance properties, so these fittings are suitable for through hull applications that are below the waterline. Despite their humble application this range of stainless steel skin fittings have a brightly mirror polished face and earth tag. So wherever they are located they will add a smart finishing touch to your boat.
These skin fittings have an imperial BSP thread running the whole length of the fitting. The fitting is held in position, through the hull, by tightening up the back nut at the top of the fitting. Your connecting pipe work is then screwed onto the bottom of the fitting.
Please check the individual product details carefully for specific sizes and specifications to make sure you select the most suitably sized fitting for your application.
